Not that I've spent a lot of time thinking about it, but I never realized museums celebrated birthdays. I guess it's because museums in general are just too old. They'd have to make a pretty huge cake to hold 130 candles for the Met, and what about the Louvre? There isn't enough frosting in the world. The National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame, on the other hand, is still a young'un, and it's celebrating its fifth year in Fort Worth with a birthday bash on Saturday. Museum admission will be free all day, and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., visitors can enjoy line-dancing, trick roping, tall tales, a yodeling contest and more. Several Hall of Famers will also be back to celebrate the big day. For more information call 817-336-4475 or visit cowgirl.net.
