Oh, Lydia!

Head to Fort Worth for a Jubilee

Since 1981, Fort Worth's Jubilee Theatre has represented, at first as a struggling troupe and now as a bastion of black theater. Specialized as it may be, the Cowtown crew is more than a niche-filler, it's a local institution. Make the trek down Interstate 30 to catch the Jubilee's 26th production, A Lovesong for Miss Lydia, about an elderly widow, her meddling neighbors and her foxy suitor, who may or may not be a con man. The play stars Jubilee favorites Regina Washington, Stormi Demerson, Lloyd W.L. Barnes Jr. and Alonzo Waller. Showtimes are 8 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays, 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturdays and 3 p.m. Sundays through June 17. Visit jubileetheatre.org.
Thursdays, Fridays, 8 p.m.; Saturdays, 3 & 8 p.m.; Sundays, 3 p.m. Starts: May 31. Continues through June 17
