I love cable shows like Iron Chef, Trading Spaces and Smack My Donkey. That's why I don't have cable. I'd never get off the couch. If you're a fan of HGTV's Sensible Chic and Curb Appeal, then chances are you've seen Richardson native and designer Linda Applewhite at work. Linda is now releasing a series of books designed to help make your drab home sparkle. Come meet Linda and have her sign a copy of her first book, Architectural Interiors: Transforming Your Home With Decorative Structural Elements. The designer will also give a seminar on interior design. This free event begins 2 p.m. Saturday in Plano at Barnes and Noble (Preston and Park), 2201 Preston Road. Call 415-956-1791.
