Scoundrel Days

Get conned at Bass Hall

At 7:30 p.m. Thursday the Broadway musical Dirty Rotten Scoundrels will be presented by Casa Mañana at Bass Performance Hall, Fourth and Calhoun streets in Fort Worth. The musical is based on the 1988 film starring Steve Martin and Michael Caine and is the story of two con men (played by Mr. and Mrs. George W. Bush respectively) who figure out pretty quickly that this town ain't big enough for the both of them, and that's when the S hits the F. Can't make it Thursday night because that's the night you're telling some chick your grandmother died so you can spend the evening with your tear-soaked face in her bosom? Or, that's the night you're pretending to have the clap to get out of jury duty? Don't worry your conniving little head about it. The show also runs at 8 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday. They're giving away tickets for free (after you pay $30 to $85 depending on seat location, show date and show time). And, there's strong language in it, so ladies, either bring some earmuffs or con some poor baby sitter into watching your toddling toddlers just like you conned some poor dude into having sex with you. I mean "making love with you." Call 817-212-4280 or visit basshall.com.
Thu., July 26, 7:30 p.m.; Fri., July 27, 2 p.m.; Sat., July 28, 2 p.m.; Sun., July 29, 2 & 7 p.m.
