Tenors Texas-Style

Sung in the key of Redneck major

What's more obnoxious: rednecks or opera music? If you're waiting for a punch line don’t hold your breath. There isn't one. I'm seriously conflicted over this question. I mean, what could be worse? Wait, what if you combined the two? Get three rednecks to sing opera. Holy crap! That's exactly what the musical comedy 3 Redneck Tenors has done. This is either going to be suicidal or extremely funny. The show is about three rednecks named Billy Bob, Billy Joe and Billy Billee who progress from using their vocal abilities to move livestock on the homestead to tearing it up at Carnegie Hall. The hillbilly trio is played by classically trained veteran artists John Wilkerson, Matthew Lord and Alex Bumpas. 3 Redneck Tenors will be playing at the Bass Performance Hall, Fourth and Calhoun streets in Fort Worth, at 8 p.m. Saturday. Tickets range from $25 to $47.50. True rednecks will only shell out that kind of dough for NASCAR or a monster truck rally, so don't worry about seeing any legitimate hicks there. Call 817-212-4280 or 1-877-212-4280 toll-free. Ticket office hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
Sat., Sept. 1, 8 p.m.
