Free Week at Rubber Gloves
Monday, September 3, through Saturday, September 8, Rubber Gloves Rehearsal Studio, Denton
Published on August 30, 2007
Rubber Gloves is always worth the dough. Let's face it, in the last week, we've seen Au Revoir Simone, Oh No! Oh My! and Sydney Confirm, all in one show, for a mere eight bones. So the idea of rolling out to the storied spot for free is nothing but a bonus. But what a bonus: Free shows this week include RTB2, Hardin Sweaty and the Ready to Go (Monday, September 3); the red-hot MOM, straight swaggerin' after the recent release of their excellent acousto-electro CD (Tuesday, September 4); Old Canes—aka Chris Crisci from the Appleseed Cast (Wednesday, September 5); the straight-up rock of Mescalero (Thursday, September 6); Daniel Folmer (Friday, September 7); the lo-fi goodness of Centro-matic (Saturday, September 8); and many, many others rounding out these various bills. And, of course, catch Sean Kirkpatrick's solo CD release Saturday, September 1—that one's worth your six bucks, and it'll remind you just what a damn good deal you're getting in the week to come.
