The birth of a healthy child is a blessed event...at least, it should be if all the right factors are in place. You know, the pregnancy is expected, the marriage is a happy one, the family is supportive, finances are in order, basic elements like that. But what if, after having grown up in a happy, supportive family with one gay son, the mom-to-be discovers, thanks to a prenatal test, that her unborn child is likely to be a homosexual? In a perfect world, there'd be no change, and all would still be waiting excitedly for the stork. But in Jonathan Tolins' Twilight of the Golds, we see the non-perfect side: reactions that threaten the supportive structure of the family and the expecting parents and, subsequently, the possibly gay babe. See what the Golds decide as Uptown Players present Twilight of the Golds Thursdays through Sundays through October 21 in the KD Studio Theatre, 2600 Stemmons Freeway. Tickets are $22 to $25. Thursdays-Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Sundays, 2 p.m. Starts: Sept. 28. Continues through Oct. 21, 2007
