Drink In the Spirit

That's the Christmas spirit! No, no, silly, I don't mean the desire to give to those less fortunate and spend quality time with friends and family, I was actually referring to vodka. But whatever. You go on with the giving and the relatives. I'll be slurping up a Bloody Mary and toasting you and your charity…and somehow, I think the family in Theatre Three's Season's Greetings would get behind me on this one. See, Alan Ayckbourn's holiday "romp" tells the tale of misguided puppetry, a super secret vacation tryst gone wrong, some accusations tossed around between relatives and other events just this side of a Costanza-style "airing of grievances." Oh, and then there's the traditional English Christmas. But honestly, unless you got your family, along with your holiday decorating ideas, out of Real Simple magazine, there’s gotta be some drama when everyone (including the crazy Tall Boy-guzzling cousin and her "could very well be a pimp" fiance) gets in one place. Throw a dead bird on the table, some gifts under the tree and add a puppet show (I had to mention it just one more time) and you might need some Christmas spirits too. Theatre Three presents Season's Greetings through December 16. Tickets are $20 to $30. Call 214-871-3300 or visit theatre3dallas.com for show times.
Fridays, Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Sundays, 2:30 p.m.; Mon., Nov. 26, 7:30 p.m.; Thursdays, 7:30 p.m. Starts: Nov. 23. Continues through Dec. 16, 2007
