It's that time of year again. Everyone is festive and cheerful. Celebrations are aplenty. The days are merry and bright. And everyone is waiting for the arrival of a kindly older man…in a pinstriped suit. God bless you, Tim Gunn. Project Runway is back. And as we all gather around our televisions each Wednesday night, all of our problems melt away and the world becomes one big fashion show. Case in point: the 2007 Jubilee Celebrity Fashion Extravaganza, wherein celebrity moms re-enact our favorite episode of Runway from last season: the model mothers. But instead of Angela and Jeffrey's mothers duking it out over their respective adult children's dreadful behavior, Will Smith's mom will politely adjust Mos Def's mama's collar before they hoof it down the catwalk. Carmello Anthony's mom will decline to talk trash about Rip Hamilton in front of his mother. And Adrian Peterson's mom will lead everyone in a prayer that her son's knee heals up before the Vikings suck anymore. So actually, this is nothing like Project Runway. But since Runway has made us all a little more runway savvy, it's a perfect time to catch these celebrity moms shimmying down the catwalk in their best designer wares. The proud mamas strut their stuff starting at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Dallas Market Hall, 2100 N. Stemmons Freeway. Tickets are $65 at the door. Visit icdc.biz/fashion for more information.
