Driving on Stage

See Miss Daisy at the Bath House

All I really remember about Driving Miss Daisy is the part where Morgan Freeman tells Jessica Tandy he has to go "make water." Personally, I'd rather watch him in The Shawshank Redemption (and in Tandy's case I prefer Nobody's Fool, or hell, even *batteries not included.) But if Alfred Uhry's tale of the friendship between a feisty Jewish widow and her African-American chauffeur suits your fancy, then do we have a deal for you—the stage version plays at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday at the Bath House Cultural Center, 521 E. Lawther Drive. Local actress Doris Gramm reprises the role of Miss Daisy—her fifth time playing the role—with Matthew Greer as Morgan Freeman, er, Hoke Colburn. Tickets are $17.50. Visit bathhousecultural.com for more information.
Fri., Dec. 7, 1:30 p.m.; Sun., Dec. 9, 1:30 p.m.; Tue., Dec. 11, 1:30 p.m.; Wed., Dec. 12, 1:30 p.m.; Thu., Dec. 13, 1:30 p.m.; Sun., Dec. 16, 1:30 p.m.; Mon., Dec. 17, 1:30 p.m.; Tue., Dec. 18, 1:30 p.m.; Wed., Dec. 19, 1:30 p.m., 2007
