We’ve Got a Fever

And the only prescription is 500X

In case you haven't noticed, Exposition Park is the last part of town that actually has any real character. Deep Ellum, on the other hand, is a creepy ghost town, and the West Village looks like it was squeezed out of some developer's Play-Doh instant neighborhood machine. Expo Park resident 500X Gallery has been a fixture in the Dallas art scene for almost 30 years, showcasing visual and performance artists from all over the place. Their latest exhibit, Saturday Night Fever, spotlights more than 80 works by the faculty of all seven Dallas County Community Colleges. It's an impressive body of work and a must-see show for aficionados of cutting-edge art. Plus, it's a good way to show support for Exposition Park before there's a Starbucks where Bar of Soap used to be. Catch Saturday Night Fever noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays and Sunday through December 29 at 500 Exposition Ave. Visit 500X.org for details.
Saturdays, Sundays, 12-5 p.m. Starts: Dec. 15. Continues through Dec. 29, 2007
