Murdering 2007

Spend New Year's Eve in black and white

What would the new year be without dead bodies, werewolves and ancient curses? No, we’re not talking about your love life (if we were, we'd include slipper socks and Cheese Whiz), we're describing a night with one of Dallas' most favorite fictional gumshoes, Harry Hunsacker, who's back to solve another murder mystery in the play Full Moon Murders. The plot may sound like one of your better dates: When a man realizes he'll go all fangs and claws during the first full moon after his 30th birthday, he relies on detective Hunsacker and his assistant Nigel Grouse to tiptoe around corpses until they figure things out. This production is the latest of the Living Black and White series, a group of plays performed in the vein of 1940s detective movies, where the sets, décor, character costumes and makeup are all black and white. So channel your tolerance for comedic corniness and prepare to be entertained with hilarity and high jinks. Come to think of it, that sounds exactly like your last date. Art really does imitate life onstage at the Eisemann Center from January 3 through 27, 2008, with a special performance New Year's Eve and previews Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $20 to $75. Call 972-744-4650 or visit eisemanncenter.com.
Sundays, 3 p.m.; Thursdays-Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Sun., Dec. 30, 8 p.m.; Mon., Dec. 31, 9 p.m. Starts: Jan. 14. Continues through Jan. 27, 2007
