Like It, Or Else

Love a good romantic comedy? A sucker for a happy ending? Well, they don't come much better than in William Shakespeare's As You Like It. I know, its not exactly a Meg Ryan film, but, give it a chance and it will jerk the tears right out of you. And, as a bonus, it even has some cross-dressing! Rosalind (a character who has been portrayed on film by both Helen Mirren and Bryce Dallas Howard) is banished by her cranky uncle Frederick. Accompanied by her cousin Celia, she flees into the Forest of Arden, disguised as a man. Adventure ensues, featuring love, disguises and, ultimately, redemption in its most satisfying form; as pretty much everyone finds a life partner, all fences are mended and a couple of people even find God. WaterTower Theatre and Southern Methodist University present the pastoral comedy, directed by Terry Martin. It runs Thursday through February 10 at the Addison Theatre Centre, 15650 Addison Road, 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays and Thursdays, 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays. Ticket prices range from $20 to $30. Call 972-450-6232 or visit watertowertheatre.org.
Wednesdays, Thursdays, 7:30 p.m.; Fridays, Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Sundays, 2 p.m. Starts: Jan. 9. Continues through Feb. 10, 2008
