Rabbi Lawrence Kushner will be the keynote speaker at this year's Dallas Jewish LearningFest. His topic? The Difference Between Nothing and Zip: The Mystical G-D of the Jews. In it he'll take a look at the influence of the Kabbalists and early Hasidism on Jewish spirituality. He will also discuss the meaning of holy books, dissolving time and the unity of G-d and Eros. I'd go just to find out what dissolving time is. Does it have any thing to do with black holes and dark matter? Kushner is a creative and thought-provoking religious writer as well as a popular teacher and speaker. He is currently the Emanu-El scholar-in-residence at the Congregation Emanu-El in San Francisco. See him speak at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Zale Auditorium at the Aaron Family Jewish Community Center, 7900 Northaven Road. Kushner will do a book signing after his address.
