Although it's early in the year, I hereby proclaim Fort Worth Community Arts Center's Sight and Sound 2008 fund-raiser as the best event of the year. Anybody who combines three dance floors (disco, classic country and rock) with a food selection that includes pizza, barbecue and Mexican food wins hands down. Not only can I indulge my culinary cravings, I can also work off the extra calories doing the Hustle and the Cotton-Eyed Joe. And then eat again. FWAC has convinced me that there is a God. To add to the greatness, their art galleries will be open as well to check out the exhibits and let some of that food settle. I'm cashing my check to help these guys purchase some new signage and upgrade their equipment. But don't let on that I'll just be there for the food. Sight and Sound will be held at the Arts Center, 1300 Gendy St. at 7 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $25 in advance and $35 at the door.
