A Little Night Music

The TCC turns out a concert opera

Just who do those Turtle Creek Chorale singers think they are? They keep trying to push the conventional chorus concert to the edge by performing some elaborate concert opera. And to top it off, it's a huge to-do about 1895 England where 600 men got the heck out of Dodge, or rather, London to avoid persecution after writer Oscar Wilde was arrested for homosexual acts. Not only is the opera a history lesson, it also reflects messages of prejudice and isolation. Those turtles sure know their drama. Well, since it is the TCC, I guess it will be nothing short of fabulous as usual. But dangit, give me some Non Nobis Domine. The TCC performs Night Passage at 8 p.m. Sunday and Wednesday at the Meyerson Symphony Center, 2301 Flora St. For tickets, call 1-877-746-4822 or visit turtlecreek.org.
Sun., March 16, 8 p.m.; Wed., March 19, 8 p.m., 2008
