There's something to be said for the ability to take on a task and turn it around quickly. In the real world that gets you promoted. In the performance sphere, it gets you One Day Only. That's the name of the recurring Rover Dramawerks project that assembles a group of stage actors, writers, technicians and directors and hands them the task of picking a story concept out of a hat and turning it into a full-on production over the course of a 24-hour period. It's kind of like Whose Line Is It Anyway?, only without Ryan Stiles and with some time to catch your breath. Whether the outputs are entertaining or just all-out train wrecks, well, that's for you to decide tonight at 9 p.m. at the Cox Building Playhouse, 1517 H Avenue in Plano, when the showsâthere'll be seven of them in this, Rover Dramawerks' 11th go-round at the conceptâpremiere. And you can't really go wrong here: Good theater is entertaining, sure, but if you're in the right mindset, bad theater can be even more so. Tickets for the potential debacle are $12. For information, visit roverdramawerks.com.
