Booker T. students junk up a lobby

And the award for longest high school name ever goes to...Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts! Congratulations, BTWHSPVA! And, on that note, more congrats for the school will soon be in order when renovations on the downtown campus are completed and students can return from their temporary stay at the Nolan Estes Plaza in Oak Cliff. To welcome them back, Spire Realty Group is hosting a student sculpture exhibit called Scrap Can Be Beautiful at Bryan Tower, 2001 Bryan St. The recycled scrap metal used to create the sculptures is donated by Commercials Metal Company in Irving. For 30 years, CMC has also sponsored BTWHSPVA's metals sculpture class, donating selected metal from their local recycling plants at the beginning of each school year. The student artwork will be on display through April. Call 214-740-2300.
