The Saddest of All Keys

Spinal Tap rocks the Inwood

Here it is, folks. The greatest rock 'n' roll movie ever made. It doesn't matter that the band featured in the film is "fake." The trials and tribulations they endure are frighteningly real. Ask anyone who's ever been in a band and they'll confirm that 1984's hilarious This Is Spinal Tap hits embarrassingly close to home. Rob Reiner and the future geniuses behind Best in Show, etc. filled this groundbreaking mockumentary with kick-ass tunes and so many scarily accurate details that bands such as Saxon and Uriah Heep still swear it was written about them. It is so endlessly quotable that even people who haven't actually seen the movie feel like they have. I'll bet you that 4 out of 5 kids that start a band have at one point joked that their amp "goes to 11." Even if you've seen this movie a billion times like I have, the experience of viewing it in a theater of like-minded fans will surely prove to be a sing-along, quote-along awesome-fest. So get your "bumcakes" to Landmark's Inwood Theatre, 5458 W. Lovers Lane, at midnight Friday and Saturday to "smell the glove" one more time. Visit landmarktheatres.com for details.
