I think my address is just a skosh off of the Munger Place Home Tour. I'd totally rock out my barely 500-square-foot flat for people to walk through, comment on and walk right back out of. But the landlord might disagree, and the automatic locking door at the entrance could be an inconvenience. Plus, the whole "home" thing is a synonym for "big historic houses." (I am totally OK with that.) The old Prairie-style homes that are kept up are breathtaking, and the fact that the residents who live there love to keep their windows open is a voyeur's dream. Tremont Street becomes Tremont Park with entertainment, food and games, while artists take residence in some of the homes' huge porches for PorchFest. But really, we just want to see how the interiors are decorated. The Munger Place Home Tour 2008 runs Saturday and Sunday in this historic district of East Dallas, made up of Junius, Munger, Worth and Fitzhugh streets. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 the day of, with proceeds benefiting the East Dallas Boys & Girls Club and the City of Dallas Buckner Park Renovation. For more information, call 214-370-9994.
