Sellers' Pleasure

Sometimes I feel bad for Peter Sellers. It seems like there have been so many representations of him and references to him after his death that no one under the age of 50 even remembers what he looked like. If you watch The Life and Death of Peter Sellers, starring Geoffrey Rush, for example, you get tricked into thinking Peter Sellers looked exactly like Geoffrey Rush pretending to be Peter Sellers. And then things get even more complicated when you see Pink Panther (2006), with Steve Martin as Inspector Clouseau, a role originally played by Peter Sellers. Ugh. The whole thing is just very confusing. But there is hope to remedy this unfortunate situation, and its name is Dr. Strangelove. (Actually, its name is Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, but that's just ridiculous.) Catch this Peter Sellers classic at 9 p.m. Wednesday at AllGood Café, as part of their Wednesday Night Film Festival. (He plays three different roles, so this is a serious dose of Sellers.)
