Moms are way different than dads. For Father's Day you can just give the old man a bottle of scotch and the remote control and you're home free, but you have to put a bit more effort into Mother's Day. After all, she's the one who went through 30 hours of labor for you, and then she spent the next 18 years doing your laundry and cooking your meals. So once a year, you have to go all out and show her how much you appreciated everything she did without making her do a thing. This weekend, take her to Dallas Roars! at the Dallas Zoo (650 S. R.L. Thornton Freeway) for an afternoon of fun activities and beautiful butterfly releases from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday or 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $8.75 for adults and $5.75 for children ages 3 to 11. Call 214-670-5656 or visit dallasroars.com. Plus, standing next to the chimp area, she'll see your room really was clean by comparison.
