See the fruits of the 24-Hour Video Race

You could do a lot with 24 hours. Eat at 24 different restaurants, watch 12 Meg Ryan movies, sleep for 24 hours…OK, so my ideas aren't so great. But the Dallas Video Association thought of a good one: the 24-Hour Video Race. Yes, it's back again this year, and it's bigger and video-er than ever. At midnight Friday, a wide variety of videographers, including schoolchildren all the way up to seasoned pros, were each assigned the details for their film. They were then given until midnight on Saturday to create a five-minute digital video. And now you, the general public, have the privileged opportunity to watch these films, which are being screened at the Angelika Film Center, 5321 E. Mockingbird Lane. Showtimes are from 6 to 10 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and they're each just $5 at the door. For more info, visit 24hourvideoracedallas.com.
