Jeffrey Ross is kind of a jerk. But, then again, that's kind of the snide comedian's shtick. More than likely, you know him from his role in the New York Friars Club and Comedy Central roasts, where he's been known to put down everyone and everything in the room in the name of comedy - which is weird, because it's not like he's some big-time actor. And it's not like he's had some big, groundbreaking HBO special, either. So how does Ross get off thinking he can talk shit on everyone else? For the same reason a dog licks his balls. Ross can, and he's damn good at it, deftly throwing himself into his insult-laden routine by hiding it behind multiple-tiered smacks on our societal insecurities. Like when he called out Courtney Love at the Pamela Anderson Roast on Comedy Central: "She's like the girl next doorâ€”if you happen to live next to a methadone clinic." Or when he picked Sandra Bernhardt out at the Ben Stiller roast: "I wouldn't fuck her with Bea Arthur's dick." Now you can catch him here in town as he swings by the Lakewood Theater on Saturday for a 9 p.m. show. General admission tickets are $22.50 at ticketmaster.com. But, if I were you, Iâ€™d aim for a seat toward the back.
