Paw-Studded Spectacular

For those who can't get enough, another movie festival hits Dallas, but you might need a pooper scooper for this red carpet. The SPCA of Texas Pet Flix 2008 Film Festival gets going with a showcase of films, docs and videos where all the stars need in their trailers are some treats. But don't expect to get your fill of Lassie, Babe or March of the Penguins. These films are original submissions. Here's hoping they aren't videos of dogs chasing their tails with a relentless laugh track. Local celebrity judges will select films for Best Picture, Best Short Tail and Long Tail. Ahem. And where was MY invite?? Gee, thanks…I only adopted my sweet friend for life from the SPCA, but I digress. The SPCA rocks and can do whatever they want. Tickets for the festival are $12.50, with all proceeds going to the SPCA. And what would one of their events be without their mobile adoption center? You might come home with some leftover popcorn and a new best friend. The Pet Flix 2008 Film Festival will be held at the Granada Theater, 3524 Lower Greenville Ave., at 6 p.m. Sunday.
