Get It On

Will judges bang a gong at these shorts?

For independent filmmakers, creating a movie is truly a labor of love. Aspiring directors often exhaust their savings and devote countless hours of work to turn an artistic vision from idea to a movie. After that, would you want to subject your cinematic masterpiece to the judgment of a raucous audience and B-list celebrity smart-asses (including Mystery Science Theater 3000 actress Mary Jo Pehl and Queer Edge host and frequent Unfair Park commenter Jack E. Jett), who might dismiss it with a gong after only one minute? More than 100 filmmakers from around the world will subject their short films to such treatment at the IndieClub Gong ShowSunday at the Studio Movie Grill, 11170 N. Central Expressway at Royal Lane in Dallas. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $10. More information is available at indieclubgongshow.com.
