Lange-O-Stern

The li'l sidekick gets his own show

When I was 12, Howard Stern was the morning disc jockey on the local rock station WWDC-101.1 FM. I was 12, and I loved him. Over the next 25 years or so, I would occasionally bump into his syndicated show on the radio and couldn't help but listen. I don't know if it is because I first experienced the pre-pubescent humor as an actual pre-pubescent or if it is actually kind of funny, but that shit still makes me laugh. Actor and stand-up Artie Lange became a regular on Stern's show starting in 2001, and he is the perfect self-deprecating schlub to Stern's proud, egotistical jerk. Among his many talents, Lange can do a helluva great impression; he was also an original cast member on Mad TV. See Lange perform 8 p.m. Friday at the Nokia Theatre with Colin Quinn. Call 214-373-8000 or visit ticketmaster.com for tickets.
