More About

It is certainly an interesting question: In today's media-saturated environment, with Facebook, MySpace, IM and the like, can one really maintain anonymity? There are countless profiles on social networking sites, free blogging sites where one can record his/her thoughts, dating sites, etc. It really has gotten to the point where you can know nearly everything about someone without ever having laid eyes on them. Los Angeles-based artist James Gilbert explores this phenomenon through continuous line drawings and "soft sculptures" (made of industrial-grade plastic) in an exhibit aptly titled, I Know Everything About You, And We Haven't Met. The exhibition will be on display at the Light & Sie Gallery, 129 Leslie St., through July 19. Gallery hours are noon to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. For more information call 214-745-2255 or go to lightandsie.com.
Tuesdays-Saturdays. Starts: June 12. Continues through July 19, 2008
