All We Are Saying

Give Wright a chance at FunAsia

So, we're five years into this dash for oil we call the Iraq War, and it seems at least a portion of the public finally seems to be catching up with the facts--there were no WMDs, no credible link between Saddam Hussein's regime and Al Qaeda has ever been established, and Bush's 2003 "Mission Accomplished" banner was obviously more than a little optimistic. Colonel Ann Wright, however, knew something was up from the get-go, resigning from the State Department in protest in March 2003 just as the invasion began, citing the decision to invade minus the blessing of the U.N. Security Council and several policy blunders among her reasons. She's since become an outspoken member of the peace movement, and she'll speak on the subject at 6 p.m. Wednesday at FunAsia, 1210 E. Belt Line Road in Richardson. Tickets are $75. Call 214-823-7793 or visit dallaspeacecenter.org.
Wed., July 23, 6 p.m., 2008
