Sanches signs his C-and-C song fodder

My limited knowledge of comics remains confined to the vintage cartoons of Gorey and Addams, but The Armory Wars intrigues me. The brainchild of Coheed and Cambria frontman Claudio Sanchez, the tale follows a rebellion against tri-mage Wilhelm Ryan led by Jesse and supported by Claudio (Sanchez apparently named him after himself), son of Coheed and Cambria Kilgannon. Though set in the solar system of Heaven's Fence, the story transcends the page, and Coheed and Cambria (the prog rock band, not the graphic 'rents) base their songs and albums on the tales of the rebellion. It's a lot to take in, but the Gus Vasquez illustrations are kick-ass nevertheless. Sanchez greets fans and signs copies of The Armory Wars from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at Lone Star Comics, 6465 E. Mockingbird Lane. Call 214-823-0934 or visit lonestarcomics.com.
