Lots of high school students draw, but too often, those great works of art never go beyond doodles on notebooks, scribblings in worksheet margins and (shhh...don't tell) drawings on desktops. Much of it could land the artist in detention. However, some student artists, like those at Moises A. Molina High School, are aspiring artists whose work goes far beyond erasable study hall vandalism. Through Prevention and Education through the Arts for Kids (PEAK), William Adkins cultivates and prepares young people to create their best work, including paintings, drawings and sculpture. Tracks of the Jaguar: Molina High School Art Exhibition showcases through August 30 at the Ice House Cultural Center, 1004 W. Page St. A closing reception will be from 6 to 8 p.m., August 30.
