The story goes that Lucky Tubb's grandfather pulled him over to his deathbed and said, "Carry on the family name, and make me proud." If you're a fan of old-school country, then you know that's a pretty tall order. And while, so far, Lucky isn't quite the musical trailblazer his great uncle Ernest was, he's certainly doing his grandfather proud, singing in honky-tonks across Texas in the same distinctive, twangy baritone heard on Tubb classics like "Waltz Across Texas" and "Walking the Floor Over You." Hear for yourself when Lucky takes the stage this Friday at The Aardvark, 2905 W. Berry St. in Fort Worth. Tickets are $10 to $13. Visit frontgatetickets.com.
