Boys Town

Pauline Stevens shows off her sons

If you've seen the movie Top Gun you're no doubt familiar with the Kenny Loggins song "Playing With The Boys," which perfectly scores that film's classic beach volleyball scene. It also happened to be the first thing I thought of when confronted with the title of the Latino Cultural Center's newest photography exhibit, Hanging with Boys and Little Cloths. After all "little cloths" would be a fairly accurate way to describe the attire of Maverick, Iceman and Slider in that infamous scene. Unfortunately the exhibit forgoes the beefcake for pictures of photographer Pauline Stevens' little kids (they are playing soccer shirtless, however, so I guess the Top Gun influence is still there.) Catch it now through November 29 at the LCC, 2600 Live Oaks St. Call 214-671-0045 or visit dallasculture.org/latinocc.
Tuesdays-Saturdays. Starts: Sept. 12. Continues through Nov. 29, 2008
