We all want a scientific cure for AIDS and HIV, but that seems to be a long time coming. The realistic cure is awareness, and with Dallas leading the state in new infections, our city is in need of some. Every year Lifewalk hosts a 5K in order to do that very thing; this is year 18. Participants get sponsors which fund AIDS services all over the metroplex, and currently Lifewalk has doled out more than $7 million. It's easy to put it in the back of your mind, but don't. Rally your troops--even pets are welcome--and head over to Lee Park on Sunday for the AIDS Arms Lifewalk. The 3.2-mile race through Turtle Creek will begin at 1 p.m., but registration is at noon. Call 214-521-5191 or visit lifewalk.org for more info.
