When I was 10 years old, my fifth-grade class had to fill out a questionnaire for the yearbook, and everyone was asked to list their favorite band. I don't remember who I chose, but I do recall the most popular answer: The Presidents of the United States of America. And I remember thinking to myself, who is this mysterious super group? In hindsight, it strikes me as kind of creepy that all these fifth-graders were going around singing "Peaches" to each other on the playground, but it sure was a catchy little tune. If you're feeling nostalgic for those days, or if you've actually heard the five albums they've put out since, you should catch the Presidents at House of Blues, 2200 N. Lamar St., at 9 p.m. Friday. Tickets are $20 to $40 and can be purchased by calling 214-978-2583 or at hob.com.
