Vampires fight hunger at the Inwood

Is there really a better way to spend Halloween than on a LoveSac watching David Bowie portray the immortal undead? The Inwood Theater is going all out for its midnight screenings this week with a reprisal of the "Vampires for the Hunger" event, which includes a food drive and special presentation of the 1983 cult awesomeness that is The Hunger. Catherine Deneuve stars as Miriam, a vampire who uses her immortality and beauty to prey upon unsuspecting human lovers. After 300 years of supposed immortality, her current lover John (Bowie) begins the downfall of all her victims, rapidly declining into a corpse-like state. Susan Sarandon's sexy Dr. Sarah comes to save the day but ends up as Miriam's latest conquest...or does she? Horror lovers can receive a discount on their ticket by donating a can of food at the box office and, in the spirit of the evening, anyone who brings in a receipt proving that they donated blood this week will also receive a discount. Novelist and expert on all things vampire (he created the Sword of Dracula comic book series, for starters) Jason Henderson will host the evening. Call 214-764-9106 or visit landmarktheatres.com.
