Making The Scene

UTD exhibit celebrates America

Anyone who knows anything about this country of ours knows that it's a fusion of different cultures, locations, ideals and lifestyles. It's obvious, even deep in the heart of Texas, as ethnic neighborhoods bump up next to each other and spill over freely, and it's visible in the hodgepodge of people seen at most public social gatherings. There is something inherently American in all of that variety, and what better way to see American life than in pictures. Social/Scene is a photographic exhibition from the Comer Collection, showcasing landscapes and cityscapes from all over the country. Check out the not-so-broken Social/Scene exhibit now through December 13 in the Cecil & Ida Green Center of the University of Texas at Dallas, near Parking Lot A off Floyd Road on UTD's campus in Richardson (800 W. Campbell Road). Gallery hours are from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, and admission is free to the public. Call 972-UTD-ARTS or visit ah.utdallas.edu.
Mondays-Fridays, 9 a.m.-10 p.m. Starts: Oct. 31. Continues through Dec. 13, 2008
