Just about everyone has banged out a rhythm on a desk with pencil drumsticks, drummed fingers against a railing or shaken a box of matches like a maraca when musical inspiration struck and no real instruments were around. But would you pay to see others do the same thing with microphones? If so, check out Stomp. The performers use trashcan lids, matchboxes, hubcaps and other items meant to evoke some kind of gritty, streetwise, urban-slash-tribal image during a feature-length dance performance. The London troupe boasts "the addition of two new full-scale routines, utilizing props like tractor tire inner tubes and paint cans." If the pretension isn't enough to make your eyes roll, catch Stomp Tuesday through Sunday at Bass Performance Hall, Fourth and Calhoun streets in Fort Worth. Showtimes and tickets, $30 to $75, are at 817-212-4280 or casamanana.org.
Tuesdays-Thursdays, 7:30 p.m.; Fridays, Saturdays, 8 p.m.; Saturdays, Sundays, 2 p.m.; Sundays, 7 p.m. Starts: Nov. 11. Continues through Nov. 16, 2008
