What About Bob?

Laugh openly at Robert Hawkins

In late 2007, a chronically depressed 19-year-old named Robert Hawkins was fired from his job at McDonald's and separated from his girlfriend. The events proved to be the last straw for the mentally ill young man, who responded by stealing an AK-47 and opening fire in an Omaha mall full of Christmas shoppers, killing eight before turning the gun on himself. That is an example of handling depression poorly. If you've just been dumped or lost your job at McDonald's, trying to cheer yourself up by enjoying the standup comedy of a different Robert Hawkins is a better way to cope. Hawkins performs at 8 and 10:30 p.m. Friday; 6:30, 9 and 11:30 p.m. Saturday; and 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Addison Improv, 4980 Belt Line Road. Tickets are $15. Call 972-404-8501 or visit improv.com.
Fri., Dec. 26, 8 & 10:30 p.m.; Sat., Dec. 27, 6:30, 9 & 11:30 p.m.; Sun., Dec. 28, 7:30 p.m., 2008
