Cry, Chuckle, Cry

Artists tackle the good times (and the bad)

When a comedian jokes about life, it's funny, but try to quote him and suddenly the world is drained of a sense of humor. In this case we'll just let the art do the talking. The Texas Visual Arts Association presents the third annual I See a Chuckle exhibition, featuring artists such as Zane Steadman, Celine Raphael-Leygues, Junko Otsu, Jose Hernandez and Pierre Lessard. The show intends to irreverently poke fun at the human condition and humorously depict the normal ups and downs, frustrations and ironies of life. I See a Chuckle III runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays through January 30 at the TVAA Downtown Gallery in the Plaza of the Americas (700 N. Pearl St., Suite G207). An opening reception takes place from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday. For more information, visit tvaa.com.
Sat., Jan. 10, 2-4 p.m.; Mondays-Fridays, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Starts: Jan. 10. Continues through Jan. 30, 2009
