Tony Rock plays the Improv

Comedian Tony Rock falls into a category that can be a blessing and a curse: younger brothers of Saturday Night Live alumni. On one hand, you've got Jim Belushi, whose career has lasted far longer than that of his brother John, and who made K-9, the second-best police-dog action-comedy of 1989. On the other, though, is Kevin Farley, whose roles in fare like Diamond Dog Caper--the worst movie I've ever seen--are a cautionary tale. Tony is no Chris, but has funny observations about racial misconceptions: "White people think we steal, but they steal too. Niggas just worse at it: cars, clothing, jewelry, money. That's all we steal. Y'all steal the good shit: stocks and elections." He performs Thursday through Sunday at The Addison Improv, 4980 Belt Line Road. Tickets are $15 to $17.
