Giraldo breaks from trials to stand up

Greg Giraldo has a lousy 2-7 record on Lewis Black's Comedy Central mock trial series, Root of All Evil. For most of the show's advocates, the win/loss record is beside the point. But for a former attorney with degrees from Columbia University and Harvard Law School, every loss must remind him why he gave up the courtroom to rant on The Howard Stern Show, celebrity roasts and the stand-up stage, where he makes observations like this: "I was watching a daytime talk show where they had all these ladies who had babies, and didn't know who the father was. I'm not judging them, believe me, because I do some immoral shit. But I have the decency to lie about it, because I'm a Christian." He performs Thursday through Sunday at the Addison Improv, 4980 Belt Line Dr. Call 972-404-8501 or visit improv.com.
