His Buddy And He!

DCT presents a baseball dream on stage

If there's one thing the world of buddy comedies is missing, it's a wacky tale about a resurrected Egyptian god and his tagalong friend, elementary school-aged Joe. At first things are tense, since the falcon-headed Horus won't quit pecking at the little boy's delicate skin, but it all works out when the two discover a shared love for poop jokes and ice cream! Yes, Horus And Me is sure to delight audiences, just as soon as whoever wrote the actual play that's actually running at the Dallas Children's Theater this month, Honus and Me, realizes that one letter can make a hell of a difference. In the meantime, Honus and Me, about a kid named Joe who just looooves baseball, is a heartwarming story that teaches children about self-confidence and following their dreams. It all starts when Joe finds the world's most expensive baseball card, a 1909 Honus Wagner, and is magically transported back in time. Kids 8 and up should enjoy Honus, which runs Saturday through March 1 at the El Centro College Performance Hall, 801 N. Main St. Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. Fridays, 1:30 p.m. Saturdays and 1:30 and 4:30 p.m. Sundays. Tickets are $12 to $22. Visit DCT.org.
