Mamma Mia

See an Italian Girl in Algiers

One day soon opera will make a comeback, and now's as good of a time as any to get your start. With the opera being declared the place to be on a recent episode of Gossip Girl, it's only a matter of time before the young and the beautiful start heading to the opera like it's 1799. Luckily The Dallas Opera is giving you a chance to exercise your operatic chops this weekend as it closes out its 2008-2009 season with The Italian Girl in Algiers from Gioachino Rossini, the man who brought us classics like The Barber of Seville and William Tell. Check out opening night of The Italian Girl in Algiers this Friday at 7:30 p.m. at The Music Hall at Fair Park, 909 1st Ave. Tickets are $23 to $193. Call 214-443-1000 or visit dallasopera.org for reservations.
Fri., March 6; Wed., March 11; Sat., March 14, 2009
