Comedian Richard Lewis doesn't answer questions. He responds to keywords that relate--no matter how tenuously--to a subject on which he's prepared one of his signature rants. Ask how he is and he'll reply he hasn't had 14 children, segueing into a 90-second bit about media fascination with the Octuplet Mom. Ask if he'll ever have kids and you'll hear how his nieces think he lives in a fantasy world where he can call Miley Cyrus for concert tickets. Either he's always on--even during a 7:30 a.m. interview--or his act is no act. I managed a few answers, including how he'll unwind in Dallas: "I hardly leave the hotel. I've seen the sad historical sites. Years ago, doing a concert, some guy thought he was doing me a favor an hour or two before by driving me the route that JFK took. And then I had to go on. I wanted to strangle the guy!" Lewis performs Thursday through Sunday at the Addison Improv, 4980 Belt Line Road. Tickets ($20 to $22) and showtimes are at improv.com.
