Grease, But Cleaner

Every so often, the masterminds over at Disney come up with a new game plan, and no matter how crazy the newest idea might be, it always seems to work. In my day, Disney was all about the animated films based on classic fairy tales, and that stuff had every little girl totally hooked. I had friends with cats named Jasmine and Belle, and you were a loser if you didn't run out and buy a new sheet set for each new movie. Nowadays, as we all know, it's the High School Musical franchise that's driving kids nuts. Before all this stuff started, if I were a big shot at Disney, and someone had pitched the idea of a musical about kids in high school, I would have thrown them out of my swanky office. But, obviously, I would have been wrong. Apparently, 'tweens everywhere were harboring secret dreams of dancing in the cafeteria and singing through the big game, and now they have a franchise all their own. Catch a live version of the popular film at Bass Performance Hall, Fourth and Calhoun streets in Fort Worth, through Sunday, presented by Casa Mañana. Tickets are $30 to $75.
