Wild Wonders

Take a trip down the Colorado via IMAX

Zooming down the Roaring Rapids at Wet 'N' Wild in Garland circa 1986 did not a river-rafting adventure make. Sure, it might have provided for some drama when your raft got stuck in that one whirlpool and you couldn't get over the ridge for going around and around while people laughed, but it's no Colorado River nestled in the dramatic setting of the Grand Canyon. Thanks to IMAX, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., explorer Wade Davis and tour guide Shana Watahomigie (the first Native American National Park Ranger and river guide), we can feel like we are there in the natural wonder, with the whitewater all around us. The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History's Omni Theater, screens Grand Canyon Adventure: River at Risk through the summer. Tickets are $6 (children and seniors) and $7 (adults). Call 817-255-9540 or visit fortworthmuseum.org.
