Posehn steps out of the shadows to headline

You may recognize Brian Posehn from his role as the perpetually stoned, gay friend on The Sarah Silverman Program. Possibly you know him as the mail guy on the occasionally hilarious Just Shoot Me. If you are old like me, then you first noticed his comedic genius on the greatest sketch comedy show ever, Mr. Show. Posehn has had his huge fingers in lots of comedy pies over the years, and the pies keep getting tastier. He's a giant of a man at 6 feet 6 inches and an unabashed nerd about the things he likes. The first thing that will probably come up is Posehn's all-consuming love for heavy metal. He takes this shit seriously, keeping the "Death to False Metal" banner, once hoisted by the likes of Manowar, held proud and high. In his wicked music video, "Metal by Numbers," Brian lays out the formula for metal while lampooning and embracing the genre simultaneously. That, my friends, is the sign of a real fan. Basically he is a tall, nerdy, awesome metal-head who is really, really funny. That's a recipe for kick-ass! Check him out Friday through Sunday at the Addison Improv, 4980 Belt Line Road. Contact the box office at 972-404-8501 or visit improv.com.
