Spring In Your Step

Things are always getting bigger in Texas, and no other metropolitan area in the United States is growing faster than Dallas-Fort Worth. Sure, we're dealing with our urban sprawl, but remember good ol' yesteryear? Bid farewell to another Texas winter, and say hello to the past at this year's Spring Into Nash Farm Event in downtown Grapevine. You'll be whisked away to the simple life (1800s farm life, not Paris Hilton's staged reality show) in no time. This free family event will include a petting zoo, pony rides and sack races for the kiddos. Tour the 1869 Nash farmhouse, learn about the lost art of quilting and watch bees make honey to learn a little about farm livin'. Do you have a competitive streak to nurture? The baked bread contest has your name all over it. With the future of our metroplex in mind, the Texas Tree Foundation and TXU Energy will be donating a free tree seedling to each family, while supplies last. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Nash Farm, 626 Ball St. in Grapevine. For more information, call 817-410-3585.
