Mo Money

Rocca brings the laughs for a good cause

The multi-tasking Mo Rocca has had his fingers in a multitude of comedy pies over the last decade. He accomplished the rare task of representing "real" media like Larry King as well as taking hilarious turns as a correspondent for The Daily Show and guest commentator for VH1's seemingly endless I Love the '80s/'90s series. Rocca even had a turn on Broadway in the improbably successful musical, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. In addition to all that, he is probably the only political comedian who has ever written a book about presidential dogs. This subject may seem like a snooze-fest, but it is one funny freaking book. He's definitely come a long way from his early days as a writer on everybody's favorite kids' show, Wishbone, contributing to a full-blown cultural phenomenon--most of my friends get all their news from The Daily Show these days, and Mo Rocca was an integral part of making that happen. Check him out 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Eisemann Center, 2351 Performance Drive in Richardson. Tickets are $45 to $145; proceeds for this special event benefit Jewish Family Services.
